My favorite spots in Rock Hill are…
My favorite spots in Rock Hill tend to be our cafes! My personal recommendations are Amalie's, Rock Hill Coffee, and Most Fly Coffee Co. On campus, we also have Coffee Underground, a student-led free coffee shop run out of Kinard 012! It's always a great de-stressor during the year to grab a couple friends (or make some new ones!) at any of these spots and chat over some coffee, tea, or pastries!
My favorite Winthrop tradition...
My favorite Winthrop tradition is the Fall Involvement Fair! This event helps connect students with the clubs, organizations, and opportunities on campus, and there's always some freebies such as stickers, pens, and club merch to take home with you!
I chose Winthrop because…
I chose Winthrop because it was exactly what I was looking for! Winthrop offers a fantastic first year experience for undergraduates, with plentiful opportunities to create connections with faculty, staff, and your fellow students. The location offers a quaint yet lively downtown area alongside relatively close proximity to several bigger cities such as Charlotte, Greenville, and Raleigh. Academically speaking, Winthrop offers so much to it's students, including numerous opportunities to participate in research as an undergraduate, lots of creative clubs, and a great number of supportive resources. If you are looking for a great location, excellent academic support, and a wonderful student body, Winthrop University is the school for you.
My most memorable Winthrop experience…
My most memorable Winthrop experience was getting to experience the snow during early 2026. Getting to see everyone on campus, both students and faculty, marveling at the weather like little kids was incredibly sweet. From sledding and snowball fights to people passing out packets of hot chocolate, the enthusiasm on campus was infectious. After two days on non-stop playing outside, my friends and roommates all shared a warm dinner together in our apartment, watching the snow continue to fall.
