I chose Winthrop because…
...I wanted to be a part of a community in the arts department and the broader college itself. Winthrop's art department is providing me with opportunities to connect with the local arts community in Rock Hill.
My favorite spots in Rock Hill are…
...Blue Goose Art Supplies near the corner of campus, and just in general Rock Hill's Old Town. There are always markets and events to attend, and it is also home to the art gallery hosted by the Arts Council of York County, and Amelie's French Bakery and Cafe.
My favorite Winthrop tradition...
...the Christmas Tree lighting! It's a great way to see the community gathered together, and I also get to see Rock Hill's Christmas Parade go through campus!
My most memorable Winthrop experience…
...was when we got snow on campus two weekends in a row. It was the most snow I had seen in my lifetime, and everybody came out to have fun and take homemade sleds down the hills at Campus Green.
